How a job runs, start to finish

Electrical work is only finished when it has been tested and certificated. Here is what happens at each stage.

STAGE 01

Enquiry and survey

Send details or photos of the board and the fault. For anything beyond a small repair we visit, check the existing installation and confirm what the property can support.

STAGE 02

Fixed written quote

You get an itemised price covering materials, labour, certification and making good. Nothing starts until you approve it in writing.

STAGE 03

Installation

Circuits isolated and proved dead, cable run to BS 7671, containment kept tidy. We agree in advance which hours the power will be off.

STAGE 04

Test, certify, notify

Full dead and live testing, board labelled, and your certificate issued within 24 hours. Notifiable work is registered with Building Control by us.

Recent work across London

Two jobs from a typical month — one domestic, one commercial.

Electrician installing an RCBO onto the DIN rail of a domestic consumer unit in east London

Consumer unit upgrade

Replaced a rewireable fuse box with a metal-clad 18th Edition board on individual RCBOs, so a fault on one circuit no longer takes out the whole flat. Tested, labelled and certificated the same day.

Questions we get asked most

Straight answers on cost, regulations and timescales.

How much does an EICR cost in London?

Price depends on the number of circuits and the size of the property. A one or two bedroom flat is at the lower end, a large house with multiple consumer units at the higher end. We quote a fixed price once you tell us the property type and circuit count, and the report is issued as a digital certificate within 24 hours of the inspection.

Do landlords in England legally need an EICR?

Yes. Since the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector Regulations came into force, landlords in England must have the fixed electrical installation inspected and tested at least every five years, give the tenant a copy of the report, and remedy any C1, C2 or FI findings within 28 days.

Does a fuse board upgrade need Building Control notification?

Yes. Replacing a consumer unit is notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations. As a registered contractor we self-certify the work and notify Building Control on your behalf, then send you the compliance certificate. There is nothing for you to file.

How long does it take to rewire a house?

A typical three bedroom house takes five to ten working days depending on access, whether floors can be lifted, and how much making good is needed. A single flat is often three to five days. We give you a day-by-day plan with the quote so you know which rooms are affected when.

Can you install an EV charger at my property?

Yes, for houses with off-street parking and for commercial car parks. We check your incoming supply capacity and earthing arrangement first, since some properties need a load assessment or a supply upgrade before a charge point can be fitted safely.

Which areas of London do you cover?

We are based on Leytonstone Road in Stratford E15 and cover all London boroughs. Response is fastest across east London, including Newham, Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Redbridge and Barking and Dagenham.
